Use the Belarc Advisor to get the information you need! Download the Belarc Advisor ( Note: Windows only) What is the Belarc Advisor? The Belarc Advisor is a free, downloadable program that tells you what software and hardware are installed on your system. All you have to do is download and install the program from the Crucial site. The utility then scans your machine and gives you a wealth of information about your system, including how much memory is installed and what kind of motherboard you have. This information makes shopping for a memory upgrade at Crucial even easier, especially if your computer's manufacturer is not in our database. How does it work? Once you install the Belarc Advisor, the program will automatically present a page with details about your computer. Use this information to find your system or motherboard in our Memory Selector. What does all that information on the Belarc Computer Profile Summary mean? The System Model — The Belarc Advisor will attempt to identify your computer's make and model from the computer's BIOS chip. You could try a new search in the Memory Selector based on this information. Main Circuit Board — The Belarc Advisor will also identify the specific make and model of your computer's motherboard. If you are unable to find your system model, you can still shop by motherboard . In this example, we're not able to determine the computer's make and model, but we now know that it has an Intel SE440BX-2 motherboard in it. Memory Modules — Finally, Belarc will identify how much memory you currently have installed. Cross reference this information against your computer's documentation. In this example, we have two 64MB memory modules currently installed. The documentation states that this system can accept up to three modules, leaving us with one available slot for upgrading. Will the Belarc Advisor send my information to anyone else? No. The Belarc Advisor creates a file on your computer that only you can see. It does not send your information to anyone else.
